Head Teacher's Welcome
Welcome to Uffington Church of England Primary School.
We are a small inclusive primary school, providing education from 3 through to 11 years old and are in a lovely setting, in the heart of the village, close to the White Horse Hill. We currently have 117 pupils and have four classes plus an integrated nursery as part of our Early Years Foundation Stage Class. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2017) judged us to be a “good and improving” school.
Our classes are named after local landmarks, decided through pupil voice votes; White Horse (EYFS), Ridgeway (Years 1 & 2), Dragon (Years 3 & 4) and Wayland (Years 5 & 6).
We place a strong emphasis on the creative curriculum and look to develop enquiring minds with a growth mind-set that enjoy learning and enable achievement. We want children to cultivate independent skills, taking ownership of their learning whilst acquiring a thirst for knowledge.
Academic standards continue to be good and we continuously strive to seek improvement so that all members of our school community can achieve their full potential. We place a strong emphasis on thinking about the whole child (“life in all its fullness” John 10:10), which for us means considering values such as Love, Honesty and Courage.
We encourage our children to be active members of the local and global community and to this end our school council frequently organises fundraising events to help others. Visitors to our school often comment about the kindness pupils’ show to each other and the way in which older children look after and guide younger ones, a fact which makes me very proud. We hope that you will visit our school.
Best Wishes,
Mrs Lisa Bradbury
