At Uffington C of E Primary School, we believe that Everyone Matters. Our Agents of Change initiative helps pupils live out this vision by making a positive difference in school, in the local community and in the wider world.
Agents of Change is not an extra activity. It is part of how we bring our curriculum, Christian distinctiveness and school values to life.
Through meaningful projects, pupils show our values of:

Resilience
What is an Agent of Change?
An Agent of Change is someone who notices the world around them and takes action to make it better.
Children are encouraged to:
- help others
- care for the environment
- speak up for what is fair
- show kindness and inclusion
- work with others
- keep going when things are difficult
- reflect on the difference they have made
The Uffington Change Journey
All pupils follow a simple five-step journey:
Inspire – explore an issue or idea
Plan – design a project
Act – take meaningful action
Reflect – think about the impact
Share – present and celebrate the outcome
This helps children understand that change does not happen by accident. It takes thought, teamwork, courage and perseverance.
Our 7 Change Strands
Pupils can take part in projects linked to seven key strands:

How does it work in school?
Agents of Change is woven into school life and linked to curriculum enrichment opportunities such as White Horse Week, STEM Week and Parliament Week.
This means every child has the opportunity to take part, develop leadership skills and work towards recognition through meaningful action.
Teachers support children by helping them plan safely and practically, but the ideas and ownership come from the pupils.
Leadership Opportunities
As children grow in confidence, they may take on additional leadership roles such as:
- KS2 Lead Agents
- Collective Worship leaders
- Peer mentors
- Project ambassadors
- Showcase presenters
These roles help pupils understand that leadership is about service, responsibility and making a positive contribution.
Celebrating Success
We celebrate Agents of Change through:
- class sharing time
- yearly recognition
- pupil reflections
- project displays
- our annual Agents of Change Showcase during White Horse Week
This gives pupils the chance to share their work with others and celebrate the difference they have made.
The Impact We Want to See
Through Agents of Change, we want pupils to grow in:
- confidence

- understanding of real-world issues
Most importantly, we want children to see that they are never too young to make a difference.
