HOME LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Remote Learning Plan December 2020
Making History
A fun time capsule booklet from the School Health Nursing Team. Children may enjoy completing it during the Covid-19 pandemic. Click Here to download

PE
Whilst schools are closed it is still really important to remain fit and active. This means that (whilst following the social distancing rules) it’s still a good idea to get out each day and have a walk, scoot, run or play football with your siblings. Below are some links which have additional ideas of how you can stay active, including if you are self-isolating and stuck indoors.
Change4life
Cosmickids
Gonoodle
Supermovers
School Games Website
Also Joe Wicks has announced that starting Monday (23.03.2020) he will be holding a live workout called PE with Joe on his Youtube channel, The Body Coach TV, every Monday to Friday.

Science
Uffington school is full of scientists who might enjoy exploring these STEM Home Learning activities. Or you might prefer these Science Fun at Home activities they are designed to be simple to do at home using household materials.

Modern Foreign Languages
Have a look at these French resources to help you keep up with your language skills.
Mrs Bradbury has created some Italian Resources

Music
If you love music you might enjoy using these resources at home!
You might like to start by looking at the BBC Ten Pieces which has a weekly music activity designed for home learning.
Staying with the BBC, BBC Teach has a programme called Bring The Noise which is aimed at younger children.
Also Out of the Ark has created some music resources specifically for learning at home. We are sure you could enjoy making some noise with these resources.

Missing listening to a story? No need to worry!
David Walliams will be releasing a free audio story every day for the next 30 days (starting Wednesday 25.03.2020). His website also has a whole range of activities linked around his books.

If David Walliams isn’t quite your thing don’t forget that if you are a member of the Oxfordshire Library Service you can access their free eBooks and eAudio service.

Computing
If you would like to keep up your computer programming skills, you might like to look at Scratch. It’s a great online resource for KS2, but the children will need to create a free account if they want to save their work.
For our younger pupils there is Scratch Junior which is available as an app aimed at 5-7 year olds.

Other resources you might find useful:
Top Marks Maths This site has a  selection of maths games and activities organised into topics and age ranges. Good for all areas of maths.
BBC Bitesize There are lots of revision resources for all KS2 subjects. Videos, learning packs and activities.

There are also Specific Bitesize English Resources and Specific Maths Resources.
Monster Phonics and Phonics Play have made their resources free to use during this period and are great resources for EYFS and KS1.
